Confirm Your Pregnancy
Stage, Viability, & Heartbeat Detection
All of the ultrasound examinations, regardless of the stage of pregnancy, include a general overview of the pelvic area. This is done to assure that the pregnancy has been implanted in the uterus and not in the fallopian tube (a medical emergency known as an ectopic pregnancy). Then the developing baby itself is examined to determine if the pregnancy is viable. A very important component of this part of the exam is measuring the heartbeat. Our ultrasounds are not intended to diagnose abnormalities. You will also meet with a nurse for nutrition information, gestational development, and healthy pregnancy guidelines.

You can get a pregnancy ultrasound, at no cost, with Alternatives whether your pregnancy is planned or unplanned, but they are performed BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. And, if the client has already established care with a health care professional for their pregnancy, Alternatives will not be able to provide an ultrasound.
Do I Need Health Insurance?
Health insurance is not required for an ultrasound at Alternatives as all services are performed at no cost to women in need.
